Healthy Kappas

The Healthy Kappas initiative promotes wellness among members of the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter and the community we serve.

Senior Kappa Affairs

Our Senior Kappas initiative honors the contributions and legacy of elder brothers within the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter.

Meals on Wheels

The Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter supports the ElderCare of Alachua County Meals on Wheels program on a recurring basis in partnership with the Gainesville Chapter of the NPHC “Divine Nine.”

Meals on Wheels (MoW) is a program that delivers nutritious meals to homebound individuals, primarily seniors and people with disabilities, who are unable to cook or shop for themselves. The service provides both ready-to-eat meals and sometimes frozen meals for other days, often accommodating dietary needs like low-sodium or diabetic-friendly options.

Room to Read

Each year, Kappa Alpha Psi conducts a National Day of Reading, in partnership with Room to Read to share the joy of reading, promote literacy, education, and community service across the nation. During this nationwide day of service, chapters will connect with local elementary schools to read to students, donate books, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

The Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter exceeds this standard by conducting its local Room to Read program on a monthly basis in partnership with four local elementary schools: Lake Forest, Metcalf, Stephen Foster, and St. Barbara Leadership Institute. On a monthly basis, the chapter engages 100+ kids (1300 annually) and 10+ classrooms. Together, we’ll continue empowering the next generation through the power of education.

Guide Right

Guide Right is one of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity’s national programs, and a foundational part of the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter’s service to youth. Through this initiative, we mentor young men, helping them navigate life’s challenges, develop leadership skills, and prepare for academic and career success. Our local Guide Right efforts include academic support, college readiness programming, life skills workshops, and exposure to positive role models who embody achievement and integrity.

Central to this work is our support of the Kappa League, a youth leadership and development program for middle and high school-aged young men. Through mentorship, cultural enrichment, community service projects, youth summits (Learn 2 Live) we provide opportunities for growth and empowerment. Guide Right is not just a program; it is a commitment to lifting up the next generation of leaders. By guiding young men with purpose, we fulfill our mission and leave a lasting legacy in our community.
