A Welcome from the Polemarch

We do not serve to be seen;
we are seen because we serve.
A Welcome from the Polemarch

Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter of
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

On behalf of the brothers of the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., welcome to our digital home. We appreciate your interest in learning more about our brotherhood, leadership, programs, and service throughout Gainesville and the surrounding communities.

Since our chartering in 1957, the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter has remained committed to the ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi and our Fraternity’s fundamental purpose of achievement. That commitment continues through our vision:

Building a Legacy. Sustaining Excellence. Impacting Communities.

Our vision reflects both an appreciation for the foundation established by the brothers who came before us and a responsibility to prepare the chapter for those who will follow. We believe a lasting legacy is built when strong brotherhood, principled leadership, disciplined execution, and meaningful service work together.

The Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter is proud to support programs that promote youth development, education, literacy, scholarships, health awareness, civic engagement, voter participation, and service to those in need. We remain especially committed to developing young men through Guide Right and Kappa League, supporting the University of Florida Chapter, the Zeta Phi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and strengthening our broader chapter family through our partnership with the Gainesville Silhouette Chapter.

Our work is guided by a simple belief: We do not serve to be seen; we are seen because we serve.

The Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter was honored to be recognized as the Southern Province’s 2025–2026 Chapter of the Year and Community Service Chapter of the Year in the small-chapter category. We are grateful for these acknowledgments, but they are not the reason we serve. We do not pursue recognition. We pursue excellence, service, and sustainable impact. Recognition is simply one way others acknowledge the work we have already committed ourselves to doing.

As we move forward, our commitment to achievement is advanced through “Elevating the B.R.A.N.D.”, a leadership framework that guides our culture, programming, service, and organizational development. It challenges us to look beyond individual events and short-term accomplishments and focus on building the relationships, leadership capacity, accountability, and structure necessary to sustain the chapter’s impact over time.

We recognize that the strength of our chapter does not rest with one leader, one committee, or one generation of brothers. It depends on our ability to build the bench, develop future leaders, engage our membership, strengthen community partnerships, and create opportunities for others to contribute meaningfully. We are committed to honoring our history while preparing confidently for the future.

Whether you are a brother seeking to reconnect with Kappa, a prospective member interested in learning about the Fraternity, a community organization exploring partnership opportunities, or a visitor interested in our programs and service, we invite you to explore our website and connect with us.

You will find information about our history, leadership, programs, events, community impact, chapter family, membership, and recent news. More importantly, we hope you will gain a clear understanding of who we are, what we value, and how we seek to make a meaningful difference.

Thank you for visiting the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter. We look forward to continuing our legacy of achievement and working alongside our brothers, families, partners, and community to sustain excellence and positively impact the communities we serve.

Warm Regards,

Bratcha J. Kellum
