GAC Recognized as Southern Province’s Chapter of the Year and Community Service Chapter of the Year.
Recognition Is the Outcome
At the 76th Southern Province Council aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas in April, the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter was recognized as the Southern Province Chapter of the Year and Community Service Chapter of the Year in the small chapter category. The plaques were formally presented at the Southern Province Leadership Retreat in July.
We are proud of these honors, but the plaques are not the accomplishment. They are the outcome.
We do not pursue recognition. We pursue excellence, service, and sustainable impact. This year, that commitment included reaching 193 students across 16 classrooms during the National Day of Reading, supporting Meals on Wheels, investing in scholarships, promoting health and voter engagement, and mentoring young men through Kappa League.
Our impact was also strengthened through relationships. We worked alongside schools, community organizations, civic partners, the Gainesville Silhouettes, and the University of Florida Chapter, the Zeta Phi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Those partnerships allowed us to extend our reach while remaining grounded in the needs of the community we serve.
These honors belong to every brother who gave his time, shared his talents, and showed up when it mattered. We accept them with gratitude and humility, knowing there is still more work to do.
Recognition is the outcome. The work continues.
