Elevating the Chapter B.R.A.N.D. Through Service, Leadership, and Development

Guided by a vision to be the premier chapter in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and to set the example for service organizations in the local community, the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter continues to translate mission into measurable action. Through year-round programming, mentoring, scholarship support, civic engagement, and Brotherhood development, the chapter remains committed to doing the work while building on its legacy and expanding its impact.

This impact is grounded in the chapter’s core values of Ingenuity, Motivation, Participation, Altruism, Communication, and Teamwork, and reflects a continued focus on Brotherhood, Relationships, Accountability, Nested alignment, and Development. The results below represent more than isolated efforts — they reflect a sustained commitment to youth, families, community partners, and the long-term advancement of the Gainesville community.

Year-Round Youth Literacy Impact

The Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter delivered sustained literacy engagement throughout the year across three schools and community sites, reaching more than 300 youth through 28 structured literacy activities. This year-round effort reflects the chapter’s continued commitment to educational enrichment, youth development, and meaningful community impact.

Leadership & National-Level Excellence

The chapter remained intentional about investing in Brotherhood development and recognizing excellence in leadership, professional achievement, and service. Through this work, the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter continued to uphold a standard of distinction that reflects the values associated with the Laurel Wreath and the ongoing pursuit of impact beyond the local level.

Sustained Multi-Sector Community Engagement

Through year-round community service, social action, and civic engagement, the chapter reached more than 350 youth, families, and community stakeholders while contributing over 380 documented service hours. These efforts demonstrate a consistent commitment to serving the community through direct action, meaningful partnerships, and visible leadership.

Guide Right Leadership Development

Through Guide Right mentoring and leadership programming, the chapter provided consistent support to 24 youth with the help of five active mentors. This sustained investment created opportunities for personal growth, character development, and leadership formation throughout the year.

Educational Access & Scholarships

In partnership with the Education Foundation of Alachua County, the chapter awarded five scholarships totaling $5,000 in honor of Brother Dr. E.A. Cosby. These scholarships directly supported graduating seniors and reinforced the chapter’s commitment to expanding educational opportunity and investing in the next generation of leaders.
