Guide Right

Director of Guide Right: Brother Boderick Johnson

Guide Right is one of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity’s national programs, and a foundational part of the Gainesville Alumni Chapter’s service to youth. The Guide Right Program serves as a central pillar of our youth development strategy and reflected the Fraternity’s enduring commitment to guiding young people toward productive citizenship, academic achievement, and personal responsibility. Guide Right is not just a program; it is a commitment to lifting up the next generation of leaders. By guiding young men with purpose, we fulfill our mission and leave a lasting legacy in our community.

Throughout the year, we implement Guide Right/Kappa League programming that addresses both educational and social challenges facing youth in the Gainesville and surrounding communities. Brothers provided mentorship, academic encouragement, and leadership exposure through engagement, structured discussions, and consistent relationship-building activities for middle and high school age males (grades 6-12).

A signature component of the chapter’s Guide Right efforts is an Annual Youth Summit, a proactive educational forum designed to address critical issues impacting youth development. The summit focuses on helping young people understand the consequences of gang involvement and gun violence while emphasizing the importance of academic performance, personal accountability, and goal setting. The program creates a safe environment for open dialogue and encouraged youth to make informed decisions that positively shape their futures.
